The Pencil Skirt

When it comes to closet staples, the pencil skirt is admittedly something I shy away from, typically. I just never seemed to like how they looked on me. They were always either too bulky, hit my legs at an awkward spot or were just all-together unflattering. It was all these factors in mind that basically ensured I always stayed away from pencil skirts when shopping for new clothes.

I don’t know what came over me that one day I found myself browsing the racks of Express, and soon ended up picking up and taking a pencil skirt to the changing rooms with me. But, I did.

And I loved it.

It was comfortable, it wasn’t too constricting to walk in, and it was flattering. It was like, magic before my eyes. I could hardly believe I actually ended up liking a pencil skirt on myself!

Naturally, I was eager to begin playing with styling with a pencil skirt, since it was something I had no experience in, and was excited to try.

Jacket: Guess; Top: Zara; Skirt: Express; Booties: Steven by Steve Madden

I love this outfit because it can be dressed up or down, for casual wear or for work wear. Throwing on some classic heels instead of booties would definitely create a more professional look, that’s sure to grant you some nods of approval.

That’s all for now! I hope you’re all having a wonderful week so far!
