Welcome to the very first Friday Faves post! Yay!
Basically, each week I’ll be selecting a few of my favourite things and telling you a little bit about them! This can be anything from beauty products, lotions, movies, television shows, books- you name it!
We’ve got a few different things here, so let’s start off with the POREfessional Pro Balm by Benefit. This is a really amazing product that minimizes the appearance of pores on your skin with a matte finish. It can be used both over or under other makeup, and is oil-free, lightweight, and totally translucent so you don’t have to worry about it matching your skin tone!
Next up, we have a rollerball perfume, which is presently my go-to fragrance. It’s called Walk on Air by Kate Spade and it smells so good. Seriously.
As far as movies go, if you know me at all, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of pretty much anything Disney. The fact that I love the live action edition of Cinderella Disney released last year is probably not surprising to you, but it’s definitely one of my favourite movies of all time. The costuming and fashion in this film are absolutely beautiful and so colourful. It’s eye candy watching this film. Not to mention, the story is very sweet. I highly recommend watching it, if you haven’t had the chance to yet.
Then we have this amazing lipstick I just picked up this week from Yves Saint Laurent. It’s from their Rouge Pur Couture line of lipsticks, and is simply called “fuchsia.” At first, I was a little nervous to wear such a strikingly hot pink lipstick, as I usually stick to more neutral tones, but this colour is actually amazing. I used it out and about for the first time yesterday, and got tons of compliments on my lip colour. Not to mention, the actual quality of the lipstick is amazing. I applied it that morning, and it lasted me all throughout my day. I had zero need to re-apply, even after drinking both a smoothie and take out coffee. So, if you’re in the market for a fantastic quality lipstick, I recommend this line by YSL.
Then we have an awesome book to read if you liked #GIRLBOSS by NastyGal founder Sophia Amaruso. This one is titled, Leave Your Mark and it’s by DKNY’s PR girl, Aliza Licht. Aliza rose up into social media superstardom when she became the voice of the extremely popular DKNY PR GIRL Twitter account. Aliza recounts some of her past experiences in growing through the ranks of the fashion industry, and offers some words of advice and guidance to those hoping to navigate the rocky waters of finding a career, rising through the ranks of said career, and tackling social media. It’s definitely worth a read.
Lastly, we have this brand spanking new teacup I purchased from Chapters Indigo with a super fun lip print for Valentine’s Day. This is currently my favourite teacup, because I’m obsessed little lipstick printed kisses things. It’s only around for the season of love though, so if you’re looking to pick one up for yourself, it’s best to head over to Chapters ASAP!
That’s it for this week’s Friday Faves! Have a great weekend everyone, and I’ll see you again Sunday! 😉
